How to work on your business, not in it

It’s very easy – and completely normal – when running a small business, to get so caught up in the daily routine of your work, that you miss out on the chance to notice meaningful changes you can make to improve your product or service.

There are things you can do, though – to help take a step back – and give your business the monthly once-over it deserves and will benefit from.

One way to do this is to try viewing your product/website/service through the eyes of someone unfamiliar with your business. Get a stranger to help you perform some informal usability testing. Fresh eyes can open yours.
